Henderson County Democratic Party Organization

The Henderson County Democratic Party is one of 100 counties that make up
the North Carolina Democratic Party. In turn, the NC Democratic Party is part of
the national party, the Democratic National Committee. The Henderson County
Democratic Party is organized into 35 precincts.

🗳 What is a Precinct?

A precinct is the most local level of Democratic Party organizing. It corresponds to where you vote on Election Day. Your precinct is made up of your neighbors, and together, you help shape Democratic leadership at the county, state, and national levels.

✔ Serve as the foundation of the party

👥 Precinct Officers: Who Runs a Precinct?

The primary role of precinct officers is to maximize the Democratic vote and mobilize voters. Working with the precinct team, officers:

✔ Host events & community meetings
✔ Email or call voters to engage & inform
✔ Send out mailers with key election info
✔ Knock on doors & canvass to boost turnout

In addition to these outreach efforts, precinct officers also have some official responsibilities:

Secretary/Treasurer
Keeps meeting records, tracks precinct activities, and assists in organizational duties.
Vice Chair
Supports the Chair, organizes community outreach, and attends county meetings.
Chair
Leads meetings, sets precinct goals, represents the precinct at county meetings, recruits election officials.

✨ **Officers are elected in odd-numbered years by registered Democrats in the precinct.

📆 Annual Precinct Meetings

Every year, each precinct meets at least once, typically during the Precinct Annual Meeting (PAM).

At the Henderson County Convention, precincts send delegates to vote on:
