Channeling Pre-Election Anxiety into Action: Your Vote, Your Voice

As we approach the final stretch before the election, it’s natural to feel a mix of emotions—anticipation, hope, and yes, even anxiety. Many of us can’t shake the feeling that this election will shape the future in ways we can’t afford to ignore. And if you're feeling a little like 2016 is repeating itself, you're not alone. But here's the thing: Anxiety can be paralyzing, or it can be fuel for change. At this critical moment, we need to use it as energy to act.

If you're feeling anxious, it’s easy to get stuck in your worries. Instead of letting that anxiety take over, here’s how you can take action:

  • Instead of worrying alone, join us for phone banking. Make calls from home and help us reach voters—it’s an easy, effective way to make a difference.

  • Instead of feeling powerless, get involved with door knocking. Talk to your neighbors about the importance of voting. Personal conversations can have the most powerful impact.

  • Instead of staying on the sidelines, volunteer with us. From staffing our offices to handing out signs and materials, there are so many ways to help. Sign up to volunteer here.

  • Instead of thinking there’s nothing you can do, show your support by putting up a sign, hanging a flag, or sharing posts from Democratic groups on social media. Amplifying the message online helps spread the word and motivate others to act. Small actions matter more than you think!

We are so close to election day, and we need every hand on deck. This election is about the future we want to build together. It’s about what kind of community, state, and country we want for ourselves and our families. And it’s about making sure our voices are heard.

The outcome of this election will come down to the collective efforts of people like you. Whether you're knocking on doors, making calls, or simply sharing a post, your actions can be the deciding factor. Every volunteer, every vote, every conversation is a step towards the future we believe in.

If you’re feeling anxious, use that feeling to act. It’s the perfect time to stand up, get involved, and make sure our voices carry us into a better tomorrow. Together, we can turn that nervous energy into the momentum that wins elections.

Join us in getting out the vote. Let’s make sure that, come election day, we’re all standing strong.
