Early Voting: Why You Should Vote Early in Henderson County

Updated: 5 days ago

Early voting is a crucial part of making your voice heard, and it comes with a lot of benefits! This year, we encourage everyone to take advantage of the Early Voting period to ensure their vote counts without the stress of Election Day lines. Here's everything you need to know about Early Voting in Henderson County, plus reasons why it’s the best option for you and your community.

Why Vote Early?

  1. Avoid Long Lines

Voting early helps you skip the long lines that often happen on Election Day. By planning ahead, you’ll save time and reduce the stress of waiting.

  2. Flexibility in Your Schedule

With multiple days and extended hours, Early Voting gives you more options to fit voting into your schedule. No need to worry about work or other commitments interfering.

  3. Increased Security and Support

There will be police and volunteers on-site to help ensure that everything runs smoothly, from parking to getting in and out of the voting site. The traffic pattern around the Board of Elections will be temporarily changed to make access easier and safer for everyone. Police will be stationed at the intersection of Spartanburg Hwy and Old Spartanburg Rd to help direct traffic. These changes are designed to make the voting process more efficient for you!

  4. Help Is Available

We know that sometimes getting to the polls can be stressful, but there will be people on hand to assist you and make sure you can vote early with ease. Whether it's help with parking or answering questions, the goal is to make this as smooth and simple as possible for every voter. All of these adjustments are being made to help make voting easier for you!

  5. Address Registration Issues

One of the great benefits of voting early is that if you encounter any issues with your voter registration, you still have time to resolve them. Same-day registration is available during Early Voting, so if you haven’t registered yet or need to update your information, you can take care of it on-site.

  6. Prepare for the Unexpected

As we all saw with Tropical Storm Helene, unexpected events can disrupt everything at the last minute. By voting early, you ensure that your vote counts, even if a work emergency or unforeseen situation arises on Election Day. Voting early provides peace of mind, knowing your voice was heard, regardless of what happens later.

  7. Additional Parking Available

In case the parking lot at the Board of Elections gets full, the public can also park at O'Reilly Auto Parts, located nearby. Volunteers will be present to help guide you and ensure smooth access from the parking areas.

  8. Save Campaign Resources

When you vote early, your name is marked in the system, and campaigns know you've already voted. This means they’ll stop spending time and money reaching out to you, and instead, focus their efforts on getting out the vote (GOTV) from those who haven’t yet voted. It’s a great way to help the campaigns focus their resources more efficiently!
