Despite the rain and some long drives, our 5-precinct collaborative event turned out to be a resounding success! We were thrilled to see between 70 and 80 participants from Clear Creek, Etowah South, Fletcher, Horse Shoe, and Mills River North come together for an inspiring evening focused on electing Democrats in 2024.
The highlight of the night was hearing from two of our standout candidates: Erik Weber, running for County Commissioner, and Martin Moore, Democratic candidate for the NC Appeals Court. Both gave inspiring speeches that energized the crowd and motivated us to take action. Thanks to their passion and commitment, we raised donations for their campaigns and recruited dozens of new volunteers eager to support the cause!
We were also honored to have Fletcher Mayor Preston Blakely open the event, setting a spirited tone for the evening. While this was a learning experience for organizing larger events, we’re proud of the outcome and can confidently say that Henderson County is on the move!
