LTE: Seeking freedom from gun violence

The day after the murder of three children and three staff at a Nashville school, N.C. legislators loosened gun restrictions on pistols. The GOP legislators and three ‘absent’ Democrats let this happen. What are they thinking? This is monstrous.

No, you are not in an alternate reality. From AP News, 'The poll by the University of Chicago Harris School of Public Policy and The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research shows 71% of Americans say gun laws should be stricter, including about half of Republicans, the vast majority of Democrats and a majority of those in gun-owning households.'

Were our legislators doing this to celebrate more lives lost?

Do they care what their constituents want?

We cannot sue legislators, but we need to hold them accountable for each life lost from gun violence and vote them out. Each voter needs to speak up with their ballot.

I want freedom/liberty from gun violence in my life. Do you?
