Western North Carolina residents have a chance to demand answers at an upcoming town hall meeting on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Ferguson Auditorium, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College (A-B Tech). The event begins at 6:00 PM, and it’s time to show up and hold Congressman Chuck Edwards accountable for his failure to serve this district.
What’s at Stake?
For too long, Edwards has prioritized extreme party-line politics over the real needs of Western North Carolina. This town hall is an opportunity to ask tough questions about his record:
Slashing Medicaid and Social Security: Edwards co-wrote a bill that slashes Medicaid by nearly $900 billion—a devastating blow to seniors, working families, and rural hospitals. Medicaid pays for nursing homes and keeps our hospitals open. This backdoor attack on Social Security and Medicare means people will be forced to stretch their Social Security checks even further just to afford care.
A Failing FEMA Response: Edwards has done nothing to ensure FEMA actually delivers the aid our communities need after disasters. Western North Carolina has seen repeated failures in federal disaster relief, and instead of fighting for real solutions, he’s chosen to play partisan politics while people struggle to rebuild.
Neglecting Local Needs: While our communities face economic struggles, underfunded schools, and rising healthcare costs, Edwards has focused on partisan attacks, taxpayer-funded propaganda mailers, and protecting corporate interests instead of fighting for us.
Why Attend?
This is your chance to:
Demand accountability – Ask Edwards directly why he supports policies that hurt working families, seniors, and rural communities.
Fight for your healthcare – Tell him we won’t stand for cuts to Medicaid and Social Security.
Make your voice heard – Show that Western North Carolina expects real representation, not empty rhetoric.
The Henderson County Democratic Party (HCDP) urges everyone who is fed up with ineffective leadership to attend this town hall. Let’s show up, speak out, and demand better for our district.
