Young Dems Summer Fest

The Young Dems of Henderson County are currently planning their 2nd Summer Fest!

We are excited to have 3 different acts announced for the festival!

Kathryn O’Shea

Kathryn O’Shea is an Asheville-born singer/songwriter known for her unmistakable voice and soul-stirring original songs. O’Shea’s confessional lyricism and winding vocal melodies are "something of a country fried Florence Welch,” as Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine puts it.

Aunt Vicki

Aunt Vicki, the musical embodiment of your favorite rebellious relative, merges indie, retro rock, and Americana into their signature sound. Led by married songwriters Lee Dyer and Erin Campbell with Drew Ball on Bass and Tristan Smith on drums. Influenced by the rock legends of the '60s and the indie scene of the '90s-00s, the four-piece band delivers catchy tunes with a gritty edge.

Daryl & Derine & The Sparkle Mountain Family Band

Rising from the depths of a deep dark holler near Asheville NC, Daryl & Derine & The Sparkle Mountain Family Band is an outlaw honky-tonk rock band making music for the love of it. Their songs are inspired by an affinity for Appalachia and stories of the highway. Sparkle Mountain makes music as a testament to community, diversity, inclusion, grit, and the kind of freedom that only music can deliver.

Come listen to guest speakers:

NCDP Chair, Anderson Clayton; YDNC Chair, Dorian Palmer; Fletcher Mayor, Preston Blakely; NC Commissioner of Labor candidate, Braxton Winston; NC Treasurer Candidate, Wesley Harris; Waynesville Town Council Candidate, Anthony Sutton; Lt. Governor Candidate, Ben Clark; Lt. Governor Candidate, Rachel Hunt; NCDP Interfaith Caucus Chair, Rev. Paul McCallister; NC House Representative, Eric Ager; Henderson County School Board candidate, Mary Ellen Kustin; and Hendersonville Town Council Candidate, Gina Baxter.
